Challenged & Troubled
- Distinguishing between the two
"Challenged" is when
you don't have a good reason to stop doing what you're doing even though
you haven't been successful so far. "Troubled" is when you can't
stop doing what you're doing despite there being good reasons to do so.
Like the old adage says, remember,
"never change a winning game but always change a losing one".
Distinguishing between these
states, however, isn't easy. It's particularly true when you've lost perspective,
forgotten to consider or don't care about who might get hurt by your actions,
or when you've let the situation get out of "balance".
If you are concerned about
having slipped into one of these states, consider turning to someone you
trust. Be it a friend, or a trusted advisor who may charge you for their
time, getting a better view about whether you should keep to or change
your game will help you sleep better at night, and probably it will help
you be more successful too.
